About Us

Bessemer City High School is proud to be a true community school. We are supported by local businesses and organizations, and we believe our students are more than classmates, they are part of one big family.

Our students work hard and succeed in the classroom. Many are members of the National Honor Society and the National Technical Honor Society, showing their strong commitment to academics.

We believe student voices matter. Bessemer City High is student-driven, with an active Student Government Association and a student leadership team. These groups help plan school events and share ideas with staff to help make our school better.

Our staff is a diverse group of caring educators from many backgrounds. Some have worked in the business world before becoming teachers, and we are proud to include international teachers who bring global perspectives to our classrooms.

Creativity thrives here too. Each year, students in our art club are honored for their talents. They’ve painted murals in town and partnered with groups like the local history museum to highlight the power of community art.
